Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club

At Whitgreave, we are proud to support the Government’s ambition to provide free Breakfast Clubs that give children a soft start to the day, helping them feel ready to learn. The programme is also intended to support families by providing free and reliable childcare before the school day begins.

Our free Breakfast Club provides children with a nutritious breakfast that follows the latest Department for Education guidance and reflects the principles of the School Food Standards. This helps to ensure that every child has access to a balanced and healthy start to their day.

Children can choose from a range of low-sugar, high-fibre cereals served with semi-skimmed milk or a plant-based alternative. A variety of fresh fruit is also available, alongside toasted high-fibre bread.

After breakfast, children can enjoy a calm and welcoming environment where they have opportunities to socialise with friends and take part in a range of activities led by our Breakfast Leaders. Activities may include games, crafts, reading and other age-appropriate enrichment opportunities, helping children to begin the school day in a positive and relaxed way.

If you would like your child to attend our free Breakfast Club, please contact the school administration team, who will be happy to provide further information and explain how to register for the service.

The Breakfast Club is available to pupils in Years 1 to 6 and opens at 8:00 am each school day.
